9 Tips to Make Your Work Corner at Home more Appealing

The last couple of days I found myself in a situation in which I was hoarded with piles of work but I could not find the right spot at home where the atmosphere was friendly enough to inspire me. So I decided to make some changes in my work corner and now I am going to share with you some useful tips that will help you beat the boredom and weariness and inspire and motivate you to work.

#1 Keep it bright and cheery! –There is nothing less motivating than a working place in dark colors. Brown is OK for the furniture by the fire, and black is good for a nightclub, but not for you working place. The light colors will cheer you and make you more positive and awake. Colors like white, yellowish, light green, pink, baby blue will make the whole working process feel more like a fun time. Do not be misled I am not suggesting a rainbow of colors-those will make you go out and have fun with friends. The perfect palette is good to be of more soft shades that will cheer you but still keep you calm and not overly excited.

#2 Keep it simple! Do not overcrowd the place!- Many people, especially girls tend to like all sorts of decorations, boxes, frames, and tiny details, but remember this is your workplace. You would want to avoid all those unnecessary things that you put in your bedroom. Keep only the things that you need with small exceptions that I will discuss later.

#3 Put a chart, goal board, pin chart, etc. Those will help you not forget important details regarding your work. Put a couple of sticky notes just to be sure you will not forget anything important. It helps when you have your goals and tasks for the day right in front of you so that you can scratch out the things you have done and the ones that are left to be done. It feels nice when you look and see your progress. And here is a suggestion for making a goal list on your own- simple but very convenient.

#4 Use organizing folders! These will help you divide the tasks and work and be sure that none of your work will be lost. If you organize your documents into folders it will be easier for you to find them when you need them and you will not lose unnecessary time looking around to find this little piece of paper that was so important. You can chose them in different colors and also put some tags on them to make it even easier.

#5 Shelves are a must-have! Nobody wants their work to be piling up on the desk, because at some point there will be no space left for you to even put your laptop. A shelf or to will provide you with enough space on your desk to feel comfortable and you can put those organizing folders on them. Look how tidy and clean this one below looks!

#6 Put a nice, bright lamp! Today’s generation, we love to sleep late and stay up all night studying and working on some project. In order to prevent your eyes from gong weary it is good to have a working lamp. Nothing makes you sleepier than a dim light or candles. Avoid that!

#7 Choose comfortable chair! When you are saying many hours sitting at one and the same place, you can feel your back aching. Choose a chair that will not cause you pain after 6 hours, but not too comfy. If it is fluffy and too comfy you might want to go and take a nap. It has to be nice and cozy but still firm. Check this one- it is fancy, looks comfortable, but still does not allow you to lie in it with a blanket.

#8 Buy some mug organizers! Put all your pens and pencils in a mug organizer. You think this is stupid? C’mon we all have cried out “Oh, where is my pen?!” numerous times. You can buy different colors of markers and pencils and this will help you with your job. Put them in the mug organizer and they will be a hand away from you. And those little things can be also very cute.

#9Put some motivational posters! If you want to lift your spirits put some posters that will make you believe in yourself and be more positive towards your work. Do not buy a poster about going to the beach; it is preferable to be something connected to work.
